Making a Difference
After just coming out of a two-year relationship, I really wasn't ready for anything serious. As an effort to get my over my ex, my friends were introducing me to a bunch of guys just so that they could be "friends" with me. Well, my best friend was looking at facethejury.com for guys in our area when she noticed a guy she knew. She sent me his profile and I sent him an instant message on AIM. We talked for a while before he left to play basketball. When he got home, he got on the Internet and we started talking again. That night he e-mailed me so that I could read it before I went to school. (I'm still in high school whereas he graduated a while ago.) That night he called me and we made plans to meet for the first time that Saturday. When Saturday came around, he showed up at 1 in the afternoon. He walked in my front door and after hugging me for the first time, handed me a card saying, "This is for you. And so are these." He then handed me two roses, one red and one pink! I then remembered that before he left his house he had gotten on the Internet to tell me that he sent me an e-mail but I couldn't read it until he was there. As I tried putting the flowers in a vase, I opened my email and read it. In the e-mail it said how in just a few days I had really made a "Difference" in his life (referring to the song by Ginuwine). At the bottom he asked me out! After that I just remember jumping out of my chair and hugging him, and hearing him say "I guess that’s a yes!" It was the sweetest thing and things have just gotten sweeter since!
