The Princess Treatment
I've always been a bit of a tomboy (I’m feminine, but I've never even stepped foot into a salon). This last year with my boyfriend has been a rough one, and he wanted to do something special to pay me back for being "good to him" through it all. So, for Valentine's Day, he recruited a bunch of my friends to find out things about me (my dress size, shoe size, favorite kind of food). He made me promise not to get him anything. That morning, he woke me up early with breakfast in bed (it was terrible, but I pretended to like it). Then he swept me away for a surprise which turned out to be a half-day at a spa! I got manicured, pedicured, massaged, facialed, hair washed, blow dried, and _style_d. It was great! Then when we came home, he opened the door to an indoor picnic in front of the fireplace (it was cold and wet out). Afterwards we took a little nap (I just got massaged and had a tummy full of good food, what else should I be doing?). He woke me up later to tell me to get ready to go out somewhere nice. I was like, "I don’t have any nice clothes with me ...." I live on the other side of the state and was just visiting for the weekend. He told me not to worry as he presented me with a box containing a lovely black dress with matching shoes. I put them on excitedly, and after singing my praises he gave me one more present - a necklace made of 2000-year-old roman glass! He knows I love old artifacts. Then he whisked me away to a very nice dinner, and then to a play at the local university theater. We came home and I spent the rest of the night "thanking" him. It was wonderful and I definitely felt like a princess!!!
